Here in Wisconsin, as we know, with the warmer months and the changing of the seasons comes the potential for storms. Be sure to have a bad weather plan wherever you are and keep the following terms in mind…
Advisories, Watches & Warnings are important messages to you about weather in your area. Weather that seems okay can turn bad quickly. If you are walking, riding your bike or doing other outdoor activities and you learn of an Advisory, Watch or Warning, do not linger with friends. It is important that you seek a safe place immediately.
ADVISORY = Caution An advisory means there are, or may be, special weather conditions; you should use caution.
WATCH = Be Prepared It is possible that weather conditions could become right for bad weather; be prepared to take cover.
WARNING = Take Cover Bad weather is happening now or is located near where you are; take cover immediately.
