Dear TGVG Advertisers & Supporters,
It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Kara Clark, the beloved creator of TGVG, after a long, brave, and unwavering battle with cancer.
For many of you who have advertised with us, Kara was the first person you connected with. Kara’s vision and dream brought this publication to life, driven by a deep love for her community – her warmth, kindness, and dedication were at the heart of everything she did.
During her first battle with cancer, when her children were young and she was undergoing treatment, Kara felt the need to find activities and programs to keep her children engaged and supported during such a challenging time. From this desire, The Greater Valley Guide was born. She set out to shine a light on local businesses and family-focused activities, always with a heart for connecting families to the resources they needed. Kara’s spirit, generosity, and commitment will forever be the foundation of this publication, and her legacy continues to inspire us all.
We are a small, close-knit team here, and at the heart of it, you’ll find Kara’s family. I consider it a true honor to have worked alongside Kara (and her family), especially as publishing was a passion we both shared. Kara welcomed me into the team right at the beginning, Together, we’ve been building and growing this publication for the past 12 years.
Truly, we are all still in shock and very saddened by her passing. Despite Kara’s undergoing of an array of cancer treatments, she was always smiling, and more concerned about each and everyone of us. To me, Kara was more than a colleague or dear friend, she was family, and she and her family felt the same about me.
We will forever miss working with Kara, but more than that, we will miss the incredible person she was. We love you Kara!
There truly is no better way to honor Kara’s memory and the profound impact she had on all of us than by continuing her legacy—bringing our community together, connecting families, and supporting the incredible local businesses and organizations that make this area so special.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at stephanie@thegreatervalleyguide.com
THANK YOU!
On behalf of all of us at The Greater Valley Guide, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of you—our readers, advertisers, supporters, and friends—for your unwavering support.
Sincerely,
Steph (And the TGVG Staff)
