Pack up the kids and head to West Bend for a weekend that’s bursting with color, creativity, and hands-on fun!
Art & Chalk Fest, presented by the Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA), is one of the state’s largest live-arts festivals, and it is back for its eighth year – taking place August 16-17 in West Bend, Wisconsin. And, this year, it’s bigger, brighter, and bolder than ever! Just an hour drive from the Fox Valley, this FREE two-day festival transforms the museum’s four-acre campus into an outdoor celebration of art in action.
What Kids & Families Can Expect:
Jaw-Dropping Chalk Art
Watch nearly 20 professional chalk artists turn pavement into magical, larger-than-life murals. Perfect for photo ops and wide-eyed wonder!
Live Music + DJ Shawna
Dance breaks encouraged! Catch local musicians all weekend long, plus a high-energy performance by DJ Shawna headlining Saturday’s music lineup.
Expanded Family Activity Zone
Kids can get messy (in the best way) with hands-on art projects, including screen printing with Bay View Printing Co. and creative play with Soul Spin.
Live Art Demos + Local Makers
More than 50 artists and artisans will be on-site creating, showcasing, and selling their work. From pottery and painting to flower sculpture and glassblowing, you’ll see creativity in motion!
Food Trucks + Beer Garden
Refuel with delicious eats and treats from local food trucks while grown-ups relax with a cold drink in the beer garden.
PLUS! FREE Museum Admission All Weekend
Cool off inside and explore the incredible exhibits at MOWA, it’s all included!
A Perfect Fun-filled Summer Family Adventure for Making Memories That Last
Whether you’re coming from Oshkosh, Appleton, or anywhere in between, West Bend is just about an hour’s drive – perfect for a fun-filled family summer adventure. With so much to see, do, and create, Art & Chalk Fest is the kind of experience your kids will be talking about long after the chalk dust settles.
So pack up the car, bring your curiosity, and get ready for a weekend where art jumps off the pavement, imaginations run wild, and every family member finds something to love. It’s colorful. It’s creative. And best of all, it’s completely FREE.
