Safety Planning for Summer Break

By Christine Ann Youth Team

Summer is right around the corner and it’s time to have a relaxing time in the sun. For many, this means being home quite a bit, which can get hard sometimes.

Here Are A Few Ways To Stay Safe At Home:

  • Find a time to talk about how everyone is feeling
  • Never get in the middle of an argument or fight between grown-ups
  • Create a safe space for yourself, like a fort or a tent with comforting items
  • Your body is yours. You never have to touch anyone you don’t want to (adults, don’t force or guilt your child to hug/kiss relatives)
  • Distract your head. Here are some great coping skills:
    – Listen to music
    – Play a game like Roblox or Minecraft
    – Color in your favorite coloring book
    – Read a book

Abuse Is Never Your Fault.
