Join us for the Second Annual Father Carr’s Bridge Walk to Help the Homeless

Last June, over 150 walkers and volunteers gathered to join in the First Annual Father Carr’s Bridge walk. Friends, new and old, walked together over the Butte des Morts Bridge in support of the many ministries that Father Carr began in our community over 40 years ago.

Founded by Father Martin Carr in 1974 as a Catholic Organization, but welcome to everyone, Father Carr’s Place 2B is a Life Enrichment Center that ministers to the poor and provides family and community activities. Services are provided primarily by volunteers. From food and shelter to medical services and community, Father Carr’s ministry offers life changing services and opportunities for many in our community. Relying entirely upon private donors and the generosity of others, no government funds are ever received or used.

The Goals of Father Carr’s:

  • To the homeless we are to be HOPE of shelter.
  • To the hungry we are to be HOPE of food.
  • To the lonely we are to be HOPE of friendship.
  • To the alcoholic or drug dependent we are to be HOPE of recovery.
  • To the depressed we are to be HOPE of discovery of self-worth and purpose.
  • To the physically, sexually and spiritually abused we are to be HOPE as a Christian Domestic Abuse Shelter and Home.
  • To the sick we are to be HOPE of healing.
  • To those who struggle with faith we are to be HOPE in our example and life in Christ.
