2017 Downtown Oshkosh Chalk Walk

By Downtown Oshkosh Chalk Walk
The Downtown Oshkosh Chalk Walk is back and this year’s event promises to dazzle and amaze as artistic talent spills out into the streets on
Saturday, August 5 from 8:00am to 6:00pm around Opera House Square. Registration to participate in this event is now open at DowntownOshkoshChalkWalk.com
Artists will begin drawing in the morning and continue working throughout the day. The day long format allows for an opportunity to watch art as it is being created.
New This Year – the Art Will Remain
Event organizers are excited to announce that this year chalk drawings will not be removed from the sidewalks after the event has ended. This will allow the art to remain around the Square for people to enjoy when they come downtown in the days after the event – Mother Nature will determine exactly how long the artwork remains!
The Fun
There will be local food stands, live music and other activities in the Square throughout the event. Oshkosh Public Library is sponsoring an area where kids can create their own art on the sidewalks around the sundial and become “part of the art” with some fun photo opportunities.
Prizes
There will be prizes awarded for Artists’ Choice and People’s Choice in both youth and adult categories. The youth category includes kids ages 12-17, with artists age 18 and older competing in the adult category.

Artist can register at DowntownOshkoshChalkWalk.com. Registration is $35 to reserve your sidewalk space. You can purchase a board, as well, to display your art on for $50.
