Winter Walking safety tips

Plan your route

Preferably one with sidewalks, and stick to it.

Be visible!

Wear light or bright colored clothing and reflective gear so you can be seen.

Dress for the weather!

Wear warm jackets, snow pants, boots, scarves, gloves or mittens, multiple layers, and hats or earmuffs.

Do the penguin shuffle

Take short shuffling steps and keep your arms out to brace yourself when walking on snow or ice.

Remember!

Watch for cars pulling out of driveways.
